Camp Description

Nestled in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains in Central Connecticut, Buck's Rock is really like no other overnight summer camp. We are a freedom-of-choice, non-competitive haven where artists ranging in ages from 11 to 16 (going into grades 6th-11th grades) are free to choose their own visual and performing arts projects and activities.

Campers are given the freedom to make their own choices in a day, leading them to discover new art forms and engage in hands-on, experiential learning. Working artists and teachers offer world-class instruction in over 30 different arts, including dance, glassblowing, improv, weaving, lighting design, ceramics, and much more. In an environment where they are trusted to take responsibility for their own creative lives, campers flourish and grow into confident young people filled with the potential to make great change in the world.

Connecticut Summer Camps

Camp Facility

We are are a residential program, with all activities taking place on our 120-acre land in New Milford, Connecticut. Come spend the summer in the woods with us!

Health, Safety and Security at This Camp

We are dedicated to making sure campers are safe and happy all summer long. Our staff is all trained in first aid and CPR safety; we have overnight security staff ensuring the campus stays safe 24 hours; and we have trained mental health professionals on staff for anything a campers may need.

Financial Assistance

Buck's Rock Camp is operating with a tiered tuition system, with six tuition tiers ranging from full price to free. The tuition due for camper(s) is based upon a family's household size and adjusted gross combined annual income. This means that families only pay what they can afford, as we want to make sure that anyone can come to Buck's Rock!

Household size refers to the number of people who live in a single house, including parents, guardians, children, and any other dependents.

Adjusted gross combined annual income refers to the total income earned by all adults in a single household and any contributing adults that live outside the household.
